Saints, Sinners, & Sanctuary

Can You Perform a Miracle?

As a member of the Dieci (the Ten), you wield influence over Popes, Saints, and Sainted Popes, striving to orchestrate a miracle and claim ultimate power. Lead one of the great Renaissance families—the warlike Albizzi, the ambitious Pazzi, the ruthless Borgia, or the infamous Medici—as you maneuver for dominance. Strategically position Popes to attract Saints to your cause while unleashing Sinners to sabotage rival families. Plagues, famine, and assassination threaten your ascent—will your sanctuary withstand these trials, or will your ambitions crumble? Gather Saints, add in Sainted Popes, and shape your miracle before your enemies do!

 Not all Saints are holy. Not all Sinners fall. 


Saints, Sinners & Sanctuary is a tableau-building game for 2-4 players, where faith, power, and deception collide.

The Families

 Your faith is a weapon. Use it. 

Play one of four families, each with their unique strengths:

  

Medici - Economic & Political Power

Borgia - Aggressive & Manipulative

Albizzi - Tactical & Defensive

Pazzi -  Saboteurs & Opportunists


 You don’t win by being righteous. You win by being necessary. 

The Popes

 Popes are more than just holy figureheads—they are divine powerbrokers, political tacticians, and sanctified tyrants. They form the base of your Sanctuary, you need two popes to support a Saint, making them the foundations of your tableau.

Saints

 The Saints are chosen, scarred, and set apart—venerated by the masses and watched by the gods. Saints don’t just preach miracles—they are the miracles. Each brings their own divine influence, powerful relics, and saintly powers to the table. Whether revered for their compassion or feared for their wrath, Saints shape the holy and the heretical alike. Back one, betray another.

Sainted Popes

 When a Pope becomes a Saint, doctrine becomes law—and mercy becomes optional.  The final tier to reach a Miracle.

Tragedies

 A single tragedy can unmake a sanctuary, unravel a faith, or ruin a soul.  Play a Tragedy at the right time, and a Saint becomes a Sinner. 

the Sinners

 

Sinners don’t play by the rules—they rewrite them. One card. One move. Total upheaval.

Anti-Popes

 

 Crowned without consent. Feared without faith. An Antipope answers only to power. 

 Anointed by no one. Obeyed by the faithless. 

 Their gospel is heresy. Their miracles are lies. Their power is deniable yet many obey. 

 He speaks in blasphemy—and they still kneel. 

Miracles

 

The final goal, fill your sanctuary, draw your Miracle.
